Inspiration

A little inspiration for us as the weather turns colder.  Dr Seuss has some amazing quotes that we should think about more often.  He is someone I look to for motivation and influence when I need it.

Technology Challenge

Last Friday, Room 1 headed to Ardgowan School for Technology Day with Five Forks, Maheno and Ardgowan School.  We had an amazing day being creative making and building different things.  We were out into small groups by Miss Taylor and had to use great team work to make bags, hats, water towers, teepees and other fun stuff.

What a busy week we had last week!! But we had so much FUN :)

Technology Challenge Practice

This week, we are getting ourselves ready for Technology Day next Friday.  We have been practicing our rolling, folding, cutting, sticking, threading and may other skills.

Today's task was to make a stretcher to safely carry Miss Taylor's injured Teddy to hospital.  

Swimming in at the Town Pool

This week, we have been lucky enough to go into the town pool for swimming lessons.  Some of us are in the small pool and some of us are in the big pool with some seniors.  It is great fun learning to float on our bellies, learning to kick with straight legs, learning how to swim using our arms and all the other exciting things.  We have some awesome coaches at the pool.  Thanks to the team at the town pool!!

Kakanui Big Beach Day!

We all had so much fun at the big beach day.  There was so much for us to do.  A highlight were the bouncy castles and the dunking machine.  Our teacher was the first one to get dunked!! Our baking sold really well and the BBQ provided us with some really yummy sausages, burgers and bacon butties.  We had so much fun  and raised lots of money for the school.  We can't wait for next year already.

Learning to spend our money WISELY

Today in Room 1 at Maths time, we had fun creating our own shops to help us understand how to spend our money wisely.  This is all in preparation for our Big Beach Day on Saturday.  We are wanting to get the most value for our money and don't want to spend all our money at once.  The children created there shop using things inside and outside the classroom.  We had fun spending our $10 at others shops.
